Cash purchase of dilapidated bungalow and caravans in 2008, located within an Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) with 9 acres.

Planning Submitted for a new build house of 8,000 sq. ft.

We used a little known land survey from 1942 pre-planning laws to ascertain the land usage in 1942.  From this, it became clear that the agricultural footprint was smaller than the full site area allowing the council to grant permission for us to relocate the house centrally into the land.

Permission Obtained in 2009 for a 5-bed house with an internal full-size swimming pool and detached garage.

The house was built and completed in 2011.

The house and pool were heated via a ground Source Heat pump.

Shortlisted for RIBA best house in Kent 2012.
